Kayangan Lake is the most photographed spot in Coron. The viewpoint on the climb up — looking down on bangka boats parked in turquoise water surrounded by limestone cliffs — is the image that sells Coron travel.
The lake itself is reached by a 15-minute uphill climb through limestone karst. Once at the top, you see the lake below — a small, almost circular pool of brackish water (mix of fresh and salt) surrounded by steep cliffs. A wooden staircase descends to a swimming platform.
The water is famously clear — visibility 6+ meters — and refreshingly cool because the lake is partly fed by underground springs. You can swim, snorkel (small fish, no coral), or just float.
It's part of the standard Coron Ultimate Tour. Going on the first boat of the day (7-8 AM) means you can briefly experience the lake almost alone before the day-trip crowds arrive around 10 AM.
