Where to Stay in Boracay: Station 1, 2, 3 & Bulabog (2026)

The best areas to stay in Boracay — Station 1, 2, 3 and Bulabog Beach — with specific hotel picks for couples, families, budget travellers and kitesurfers.

Where to Stay in Boracay: Station 1, 2, 3 & Bulabog (2026)

Boracay makes one thing easy and one thing confusing. Easy: the whole island is built around a single 4-kilometer beach, so you’re never “far” from anything. Confusing: that beach is split into three numbered Stations, plus a fourth option on the opposite coast, and picking the wrong one means either overpaying for quiet you didn’t need or landing in the middle of a party you wanted no part of. Here’s how to choose.

The 60-second answer

  • First trip, want quiet and upscale? Station 1.
  • Want restaurants, nightlife and D’Mall on foot? Station 2.
  • Backpacking or want a chiller, cheaper base? Station 3.
  • Kitesurfing or windsurfing? Bulabog Beach.

For most first-time visitors, Station 2 is the easiest call — it puts everything within walking distance. The rest of this guide is for deciding whether you’d actually be happier elsewhere.

Station 1 (quiet and upscale)

Station 1, at the northern end of White Beach, has the widest stretch of sand and the island’s most polished resorts. It’s noticeably calmer than Station 2 — fewer vendors, fewer beach bars blasting music, more space between sunbeds. You’ll walk or trike into Station 2 for most nightlife and cheap eats, which for some people is a feature, not a bug.

Stay in Station 1 if you want a honeymoon-grade resort, the best sand on the beach, and don’t mind paying more for the quiet.

Station 2 (the main hub)

Station 2 is the beating heart of the island — D’Mall, the highest concentration of restaurants and bars, and the widest choice of hotels at every price point. This is the walk-everywhere option: dinner, dive shops, souvenir stalls and the busiest stretch of sand are all a few minutes’ walk from your door. It’s also the loudest and most crowded part of the beach, especially after dark.

Stay in Station 2 if it’s your first trip and you want maximum convenience — food, nightlife and tours all on foot.

Station 3 (budget and chiller)

At the southern end of White Beach, Station 3 is where budget travellers and anyone allergic to crowds tends to end up. Rooms are noticeably cheaper than Stations 1 and 2, the sand is quieter, and there’s a more local, low-key feel — but you’ll trike or walk further for the best restaurants and nightlife.

Stay in Station 3 if you want to save money and don’t mind a short ride to reach Station 2’s restaurants and bars.

Bulabog Beach (kitesurfing and windsurfing)

On the opposite side of the island from White Beach, Bulabog Beach is a completely different scene: this is the country’s kitesurfing capital, with the wind picking up during the habagat season (roughly June to October) — which conveniently is also when White Beach gets choppiest. Rooms here are cheaper than the White Beach stations and the crowd is sportier and more laid-back. It’s a 5–10 minute walk or trike across the island to reach White Beach and Station 2’s restaurants.

Stay near Bulabog if you’re kitesurfing or windsurfing, or you want White Beach’s restaurants within reach at a lower price.

Getting there and getting around

You’ll fly into either Caticlan (MPH) or Kalibo (KLO), then transfer by van and boat to the island — Caticlan is closer, Kalibo is usually cheaper to fly into. For the full breakdown, see our Boracay vs El Nido comparison, which covers logistics for both. Once you’re on the island, White Beach itself is car-free — tricycles run the parallel road between stations for ₱15–25 within a station and ₱50–100 between them, but most people staying in Station 2 barely need transport at all. Frequently asked questions

What’s the best area to stay in Boracay? For most travellers, Station 2 — it’s the island’s hub, walking distance to D’Mall, restaurants and nightlife. Choose Station 1 for a quieter, more upscale stay, Station 3 for budget and a chiller vibe, or Bulabog Beach if you’re kitesurfing.

Is Station 1 or Station 2 better? Station 1 has the widest, quietest sand and the most upscale resorts. Station 2 is livelier, cheaper on average, and puts restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep. Neither is objectively “better” — it depends on whether you want quiet or convenience.

Where do kitesurfers stay in Boracay? Bulabog Beach, on the island’s east coast, is the kitesurfing and windsurfing hub, with schools and gear rental right on the beach. It’s a short walk or trike ride from White Beach.

Is Boracay expensive? It has options at every price point — budget hostels in Station 3 and Bulabog start under ₱1,500 a night, while Station 1’s luxury resorts run well into the tens of thousands of pesos. Prices roughly double during December–February peak season.
