Laiya is the main beach destination of Batangas — a 3-kilometer stretch of white-sand beach in San Juan, on the eastern coast facing the Pacific. It's where Manila families and weekenders go for the closest white-sand beach to the capital.
The beach is divided across multiple resorts. La Luz Beach Resort and Acuatico Beach Resort are the most famous high-end options. Public beaches are available for day-trippers with parking and cottages for rent (PHP 1,500-3,500 per day).
The sand is genuinely white though not as fine as Boracay or El Nido. The water is clean and shallow enough for kids. Beach activities are well-developed.
It's a 3-4 hour drive from Manila via SLEX-STAR-Tagaytay. Friday afternoons and Sunday returns can take 5+ hours.
