Katibawasan Falls
A 76-meter waterfall dropping into a cold pool.
Katibawasan Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in Mindanao — water drops 76 meters straight down a sheer rock face into a small pool surrounded by tropical jungle. It's 30 minutes from Mambajao town and a short 5-minute walk from the parking area.
The pool at the base is cold (water comes straight from mountain springs) and deep enough to swim in. There's a small viewing platform, picnic tables, and a few snack vendors.
Pair Katibawasan with Tuasan Falls (smaller but with a deeper pool) and the Sto. Niño Cold Springs for a half-day 'waterfalls and springs' loop. All three are within 20 minutes of each other.
Entry to Katibawasan is PHP 30-50. Tricycle from Mambajao costs PHP 250-400 round trip with waiting time.
