Puka Shell Beach

A quieter, wilder beach 15 minutes from White Beach.

Puka Shell Beach

If White Beach feels overcrowded, Puka Shell Beach is the antidote. About 15 minutes by tricycle from Station 1, this 800-meter stretch on Boracay's northern tip is dramatically less developed — no umbrellas, no vendors selling massages every 30 seconds, just sand and sea.

The "puka" comes from the small shell fragments that mix with the sand here, giving it a slightly coarser texture than White Beach. You'll see people collecting them, though local guides discourage taking them home (it's slowly diminishing the beach).

There's no nightlife and minimal facilities — bring water and snacks. This is a stop on most island-hopping tours, but it's worth coming independently in the late afternoon to catch the sunset without the tour groups. Pair it with the nearby Diniwid Beach for a half-day escape from White Beach's intensity.
