Sunset Sailing on a Paraw

Boracay's most iconic experience.

Sunset Sailing on a Paraw

A paraw is a traditional Filipino outrigger sailboat — twin bamboo arms keep it stable while a single triangular sail pulls it across the water at surprising speed. Sunset paraw sailing is the single most photographed activity in Boracay, and rightly so.

Tours run from about 5 PM, lasting roughly an hour. You'll sail out 200-300 meters from shore, see the entire White Beach coastline lit by the dropping sun, and ride back as the sky turns pink then violet. The boats hold 4-6 people, so it feels intimate.

Book at the beach — every other vendor on Station 2 offers paraw tours. Prices range from PHP 400 to PHP 800 per person. Look for boats with newer sails and life jackets in good condition. Avoid the cheap operators who'll cram 10 people on a 4-person boat.
