Tamaraw Falls in Puerto Galera, Philippines

Tamaraw Falls is named after the critically endangered Tamaraw — a small water buffalo endemic to Mindoro. The falls themselves drop 423 feet (129 meters) in a series of cascades visible directly from the main road between Puerto Galera and Calapan.

There's a public swimming pool at the base where the water from the falls is channeled. Entry is PHP 30-50. The pool is cold, clean, and a refreshing stop on the drive between coastal Puerto Galera and inland Mindoro.

The site isn't a long visit — most travelers spend 30-60 minutes. Combine with a day trip to Mangyan Village for a half-day exploring beyond the beach.

To reach the falls from Puerto Galera, hire a tricycle (PHP 500-800 round trip) or rent a scooter (PHP 400-600/day).
