White Beach
Puerto Galera's main beach strip.
White Beach is the main tourist beach of Puerto Galera — about 1.5 kilometers of white sand with shallow turquoise water and a strip of beachfront resorts, restaurants, and bars. It's been Manila's go-to beach getaway since the 1970s.
The sand is genuinely white (though coarser than Boracay) and the water stays shallow for 50-100 meters from the shore — great for families and weak swimmers. Beach activities include banana boat rides, parasailing, jet ski rentals.
It gets busy on weekends and holidays — Manila weekenders descend in numbers. Weekdays are dramatically quieter. The strip has bars that operate until late night.
For quieter alternatives, head to Aninuan Beach (next bay over, 10 minutes by tricycle) or Tamaraw Beach (further west, more upscale resorts).
