Sugba Lagoon
A mangrove-fringed turquoise lagoon.
Sugba Lagoon is a vast, calm body of brilliant turquoise water surrounded by mangrove forest. Reaching it is part of the experience — a 1-hour boat ride from Del Carmen port on the north side of Siargao, weaving through narrow mangrove channels.
Once you arrive, there's a wooden platform with a diving board and rope swing extended over the lagoon. Stand-up paddleboards and kayaks are available for rent. Most visitors stay 2-3 hours, swimming, paddling, and eating a packed lunch on the platform.
Tours from General Luna are organized by every guesthouse — expect PHP 1,500-2,000 per person including transport, boat, lunch, and lagoon entrance. Going in a group of 4+ brings the cost down sharply.
It's busy in peak season, with 20-30 boats arriving by noon. Going on the first boat at 8 AM means having the lagoon mostly to yourself for the first hour.
